When I was a Lass…
When I was a “lass” I needed to find a job that was exciting. I was lucky to be hired at a local hospital as the hospital operator and had no idea how this would change my life. Through the years working at the hospital I was promoted to many different areas working admissions, Emergency Room and the hospital billing department.
Change brings Opportunity
One day I was approached by a physician to come and work for him. I worked in every aspect of the office answering phones, data entry, billing, scheduling and learned everything possible. As years passed the physician group merged with other physician group and we grew even larger; therefore my possibilities grew with all the changes.
New Challenges…
However my life changed overnight when I was put in the situation of raising two small boys on my own. At this point in my life my self-esteem was at the bottom and really didn’t know how I was going to support my children. After months of soul searching I realized I needed to make a change in my attitude and outlook of life.
A Career, Not a Job
It was essential to find a “career and not a job”, and believe me there is a difference. My first step was to obtain my CPC certification. I can’t even start to explain how this changed my entire career path and opened up doors of opportunity. The key was hard work, diligence, and believing in myself.
Anything is Possible
All these changes took place over years but I am a firm believer that anything is possible. We learn to jump over obstacles and hurdles and not let them be barriers. I am proof anything is possible if you believe in yourself. I love my life and LOVE MY CAREER.
